A heart and chart breaker

Thorsteinn Einarsson

AUSTRIA

Honest pop rock with depth

The early bird catches the worm: Reykjavík-born singer-songwriter THORSTEINN EINARSSON was just 18 years old when he reached the final of the ORF casting show “Die große Chance”. While he may not have won the competition in the end, the Austro-Islander still won many hearts. His self-penned song “Leya” was a hit and the son of an opera singer was named “Songwriter of the Year” at the Amadeus Music Awards.

But that was merely the start of a successful career that has made the creator of hits such as “Kryptonite”, “Galaxy”, “Swingset” and “Shackles” famous far beyond Austria’s borders.

In March 2025, “Teardrops & Confettiguns” will be released – it will be the fourth studio album from this likeable hit-maker, who shares honest insights into his soul life through his songs that are characterised by engaging and instantly catchy pop-rock rhythms. And his distinctive voice does just that. It’s no wonder that the songs written by a die-hard Freddy Mercury fan and passionate Liverpool FC supporter have been streamed over 20 million times. And he’s unbeatable live anyway!
